Who does Al Qaeda want in the White House?

A news publication with ties to Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has published its projections on the U.S. presidential election, predicting who will be the Democratic and Republican nominees and how each individual will deal with the Middle East and Muslims around the world.

In an online article published by Al Masra, a Yemen-based paper, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are forecasted to become the nominees.

The Wall Street Journal has obtained a translated report of the text which suggests that Trump, who is “famous for his-anti Muslim attitude,” will cause an increase in anti-U.S. sentiment by Muslims if elected President. Former Sec. of State Clinton “will be an extension of the policy of Obama and the Democrats in the region,” the report said.

While there is no mention of Ohio Governor and GOP candidate John Kasich, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders were mentioned, with a prediction that Cruz will “not finish the presidential race, like Sanders.”

Despite President Obama not yet endorsing any candidate, the report makes the case that Clinton has “the personal support of Barack Obama for her campaign.”

This is not the first time a terror organization is weighing in on the Election. Following the Brussels attacks, a propaganda film was released by an ISIS-affiliated media group which featured audio footage from GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
