Al Qaeda: Bannon appointment is “true face of the Trump administration”

Turns out, the liberal media has a new partner in criticizing Donald Trump’s appointment of Chief White House strategist Stephen Bannon—Al Qaeda.

Al Masra, a Yemen-based Al Qaeda weekly newspaper, devoted an entire article to Trump’s appointment of Bannon, warning that he will bring “white race supremacy” to the highest levels of the White House.

“Stephen Bannon is considered a far-right person, and he is the executive chairman of the controversial far-right Breitbart website,” the paper stated.

“He has already published racist titles against women, Jews, and Muslims. Bannon has changed Breitbart website into far-right forum for Neo-Nazis groups who believes in the white race supremacy and anti-Semitism,” they continued.

The piece also suggested that Reince Priebus’ appointment as chief-of-staff was a ‘conciliatory move’ aimed at appeasing Bannon’s critics.

Al Qaeda noted criticism from Democratic senators and organizations, such as the Anti-Defamation League, as well as media comments from Republican Gov. John Kasich’s adviser John Weaver and independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin, who have voiced disapproval at Bannon’s appointment.

The ADL has since tempered its criticism of Bannon, adding on the group’s website:“We are not aware of any anti-Semitic statements from Bannon.”

Also mentioned is former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a Trump advisor and leading contender for Secretary of State. The paper reminded readers it was Giuliani who ‘notoriously’ booted Yasser Arafat from a Lincoln Center concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the U.N. back in 1995.

Other contenders for Secretary of State include former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton as well as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Much emphasis is given to the position of Secretary of State in the U.S., the article concludes, “because of the complexities of its foreign interventions, its interest in other countries, and being affected by what is happening outside its borders.”

Following Trump’s victory earlier this month, the paper noted the ‘shock’ of the American people at the outcome of the election, even suggesting that Trump’s run was primarily to generate media interest and garner advertising revenue for television executives.

“They have never expected that the clown candidate whom they were hosting in order to gain commercials and highest viewing rates will be the president of the U.S. They have realized that they were helping him indirectly to win the presidential race.”

Senior Al Qaeda Cleric Abdallah Al Muhaysini, though, has welcomed Trump’s victory as “a crucial step towards Sunni victory.”

Al Muhaysini, a cleric within Al Nusra the Al Qaeda-linked terror group recently renamed as Jabhat Fatah al-Sham fighting Assad forces in Syria, said Trump’s victory would “hasten the end of the American-Shiite coalition,” a reference to the Obama administration’s push to normalize relations with Iran’s government through the nuclear deal, allowing Iran to emerge from isolation as well turning a blind-eye to Iran-backed militias fighting in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

Last month, in the run up to the election, the paper criticized both U.S. presidential candidates, scoffing at America’s ‘waning’ influence around the world.

“Some may wonder how the U.S. presidential campaign could only yield two candidates mired in criticism and flaws, and how the American establishment can only produce Hillary and Trump? Is this evidence of the beginning of the American decline?”

“The answer will be confirmed by the outcome of the election. Without doubt, the future will be different from the past, where the star of the United States flashed and is now set to fade,” it said.
